Where to park in the Palace of Versailles?

Vue aerienne du domaine de Versailles

Every year, thousands of visitors come to see the Palace of Versailles and its 800-hectare park, located about ten kilometers southwest of Paris as the crow flies. Although it is possible to travel by train — the RER station Château Rive Gauche is right next to the palace — the most convenient option is to arrive by car. There are several underground parking garages near the Palace of Versailles from which you can walk to the residence of Louis XIV.

Where?

If you already have your ticket for the Palace of Versailles, the best option is the Parc de stationnement – Sceaux. This is an affordable parking area located just 10 minutes from the Palace of Versailles, allowing you to walk easily to the palace and its gardens.

The Parc de stationnement – Sceaux is open every day from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Other options may be less economical.

On the other hand, access to the palace’s own parking area (directly in front of the main entrance) is free for vehicles belonging to visitors with disabilities, provided that the necessary documentation is presented.

Alternatively, you can also drive to Paris and then take the RER train to Versailles. To do this, get off at the Versailles Château Rive Gauche station, which is only 350 meters from the Palace of Versailles. The total journey takes around 45 minutes, depending on train frequency, with departures usually every 15 minutes on this route.
